COMBINATION BROWS

What are combo brows?

Combo brows combine two microblading techniques — hairstroke (nanoblading) and shading — to create natural, full-looking eyebrows. The hairstroke portion uses ultra-fine strokes that mimic individual brow hairs, giving realistic definition, especially at the front of the brow. The shading portion uses a soft powder or ombré technique to add depth and fill in sparse areas, creating fullness and a subtle gradient from lighter at the front to darker at the tail.

Why Combo brows?

This technique is Best for clients who want both natural hair-like texture and more fullness or structure.

Works well on most skin types, including slightly oily skin that may not retain pure hair strokes as well.

Results look natural while reducing or eliminating daily brow makeup.

Typically requires an initial appointment (design + application) and one touch-up 4–8 weeks later; periodic color refreshes are recommended every 12–24 months, depending on skin type and lifestyle. Aftercare is important.

At Cytoscal, we use realistic nanoblading for the hair strokes, paired with precise shading, to deliver a polished, natural result tailored to your facial shape and desired level of intensity.

  • Factors That Can Impact Your Healed Results:

    • Medications and Health Conditions: Certain medications and health issues can slow down healing or alter the final look of the brows.

    • Skin Conditions: Oily skin, dry/flaky skin, sun damage, or loose skin can affect how the pigment settles.

    • Natural Skin Undertones: Your skin’s undertones may influence the final healed color.

    • Alcohol Intake and Smoking: These can delay healing and negatively affect the results.

    • Stress and Immune System: High stress or a weakened immune system can slow down the healing process.

    • Poor Diet: An unhealthy diet may delay recovery and impact the results.

    • Aftercare: Not following aftercare instructions properly can lead to poor healing, patchy pigmentation, or other issues.

Following these guidelines and considering these factors will help ensure a safe microblading procedure and the best possible results. Always consult with your healthcare provider if you have any concerns.

  • Avoid Certain Products and Treatments:

    • One week before Stop using any skin treatments like chemical peels, Retin-A, retinoids, AHA/BHA products, and exfoliants. These can thin the skin and increase sensitivity.

    • 24-48 hours before: Avoid using skincare products containing alcohol or strong acids around the eyebrow area.

Do Not Wax or Thread Eyebrows:

    • Avoid plucking, waxing, threading, or tinting your eyebrows at least one week before the appointment. The technician needs to work with your natural eyebrow shape.

    Avoid Blood-Thinning Substances:

    • 72 hours before: Avoid consuming alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, or other blood-thinning medications. These can increase the risk of bleeding during the procedure.

    • Two weeks before: Avoid fish oil, vitamin E, or other supplements that can thin the blood.

    Avoid Caffeine and Energy Drinks:

    • On the day of your appointment, avoid drinking coffee, tea, or any other caffeinated beverages, as they can increase sensitivity and cause slight bleeding.

    Moisturize and Hydrate:

    • Ensure that your skin is well-hydrated. Drink plenty of water leading up to the procedure, and follow your regular skincare routine, focusing on moisturizing your skin.

    Do Not Tan or Sunbathe:

    • Avoid sun exposure or tanning for at least two weeks before the procedure. Sunburned or tanned skin is more sensitive and can lead to poor results.

    • Consider Your Health and Medical Conditions:

    • If you have any medical conditions like diabetes, skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis), or take medication, consult your doctor beforehand to ensure microblading is safe for you.

    • Pregnant or breastfeeding women are generally advised not to undergo microblading.

    8. Prepare Mentally:

    • Discuss your desired eyebrow shape and color with your technician during the consultation. Bring inspirational photos if necessary.

    • Be aware of the healing process: The initial healing period lasts around 7-10 days, and the final results may take up to a month to fully appear. Your eyebrows will likely go through phases of scabbing and lightening.

    9. Dress Comfortably:

    • Wear comfortable clothing, as the procedure can take 1.5 to 2 hours. Avoid white or delicate clothing since pigment might accidentally stain them.

    10. Stay Relaxed:

    • Microblading is a semi-permanent tattooing technique, but the procedure is generally safe when performed by a professional. Keep calm and trust the process.
